MEMPHIS, Tenn. Michael Wacha Jersey . - The Grizzlies are happy to be back in Memphis, where they finished the regular season by winning a franchise-record 14 straight games. They brought home-court advantage with them. To guard Mike Conley, that ratchets up the pressure even more. Its time for the Grizzlies to protect the place they call the Grindhouse. "Its going to be tough against a team thats played so well, especially on the road," Conley said Wednesday of the Thunder. "But were happy with our position, I can tell you that much." The Grizzlies evened this first-round Western Conference series by winning 111-105 in overtime at Oklahoma City on Monday. Being the visitor Thursday night in a hostile arena for Game 3 isnt a concern for the Thunder, who went 25-16 away from Oklahoma City for the NBAs second-best road record in the regular season. "Everybodys going to be there. Theyre going to have T-shirts. Theyre going to be swinging towels," Kevin Durant said. "Its the playoffs. Its going to be hostile, but weve been there before." Yes, the Thunder certainly have. But they have exactly one win in five previous post-season games in Memphis, and they needed three overtimes to pull that out in the 2011 conference semifinals. Memphis took both matchups in last years semifinals en route to winning the series in five. Memphis went 5-2 at home in the 2013 playoffs, when San Antonio, in the conference finals, was the only visitor to win. Tony Allen, who has made Durant work so much harder for his points in this series, said the Grizzlies cant become complacent knowing theyll have a loud crowd at the FedExForum. "We got to understand its one game at a time," Allen said. "Its the playoffs. Each game counts. Each possession counts. We cant get caught up in that." Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger also has cautioned his team not to simply assume being home will make everything work. That 14-game winning streak that helped them reach the playoffs as the seventh seed also is meaningless. Joerger said its time to start over now, and the team that sets the tone for its style quickest has won each of the first two games. Oklahoma City ran all over Memphis in winning the opener 100-86 in a game that was only that close because the Grizzlies had a big third quarter. The Grizzlies slowed the Thunder down from the opening tip Monday night in leading by as many as 10, even if they needed overtime after Durants amazing four-point play off his 3 falling out of bounds. "Our team is a team that cant play too far from behind because we play a certain style of basketball, and its tough," Grizzlies forward Mike Miller said. "Our starts are big for us. They do have some pressure. They have some expectations." The Thunder practiced Wednesday in Oklahoma City before travelling to Memphis. Coach Scott Brooks wants the Thunder to keep Conley and backup guard Beno Udrih in front of them. Udrih had 14 points in 14 minutes, giving Conley plenty of rest in his first extended action since being claimed off waivers in February. Brooks also wants to make sure Memphis big men work for what they get. Zach Randolph scored 25 points Monday, hitting 10 of his 20 shots. Offensively, Oklahoma City wants to screen better to keep Allen away from Durant as much as possible. "If we dont have good setups and good screens, its going to bog down and its going to be tough shots at the end of the shot clock," Brooks said. Of course, thats exactly what the Grizzlies want to slow down the Thunder. "We just keep slogging along and we feel always that if we get you in a possession game, we feel like that over the course of 48 minutes that we can grind you down," Joerger said. ___ AP Sports Writer Cliff Brunt contributed to this report from Oklahoma City, and AP freelance writer Clay Bailey contributed in Memphis. ___ Follow Teresa M. In Los Angeless 6-0 thumping of the Canadiens on Tuesday night, Jones became the first Kings goaltender to ever record a shutout against Montreal. And he did it in just his third career NHL game. Jones is now 3-0 with a 0.65 goals-against-average and a .973 save percentage. The shutout was also his second in as many nights. "Maybe I didnt expect to get that kind of start, but I dont want to stop here," said Jones. "I want to make sure I keep working. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Were playing some good teams." The 23-year-old from North Vancouver, B.C., earned his first win in his NHL debut last Tuesday, beating the Anaheim Ducks after a nine-round shootout. He followed up by making 16 saves to blank the New York Islanders on Saturday. "Its been nice to get wins in different ways," said Jones. "Thats the sign of a good team, we get wins in different situations." Jones got the start in Montreal in place of Ben Scrivens, who leads the league in save percentage. And Scrivens is normally backup goaltender to Jonathan Quick, whos out with a groin injury. With Quick expected back in a couple of weeks, Jones performance could force head coach Darryl Sutter to make a tough decision down the road. "Whenever Im called upon, theyre going to get my best," said Jones. They got his best on Tuesday at the Bell Centre, where Jones stopped all 30 shots he faced, including a seven-shot opening game flurry with the Canadiens on the power play. "If Jones wasnt making the saves he was making, it could have been a completely different ball game right off the start," said Anze Kopitar, who rewarded his netminder with a goal late in the first period, his ninth of the year. "He came up big for us. That game could have gone the complete opposite way." L.A.s (20-7-4) victory extended its winning streak to four games, snapping Montreals 10-game point streak in the process. The Canadiens (19-10-3) hadnt lost in regulation since Nov. 16, when they were beaten 1-0 by the New York Rangers. They came into Tuesdays game on an 11-1-2 run in which they hadnt conceded more than three goals in a game. But they conceded six on the Kings 30 shots. Carey Price, whose save percentage dipped to . Willie McGee Jersey. 934 after the game, made 12 saves on 16 shots and was pulled midway through the second frame. His replacement Peter Budaj didnt fare much better, allowing two goals on 14 shots. "These games are miserable," said Canadiens defenceman Josh Gorges. "The only thing you can do is get out of this room here, take a look in the mirror, and ask yourself, Did I do what I was supposed to do tonight? Theres not one guy in this room that can say that he did. "We have to understand that this is how hard it is in this league. We have to use it as motivation going forward." The Canadiens came out of the gate with intense pressure, but couldnt find an answer to Joness stellar play. Jordan Nolan opened the scoring for Los Angeles at 7:03 of the first period, jumping on a big rebound after a Willie Mitchell shot from the blue-line bounced off of Prices pads and landed on Nolans stick. Kopitar added to the lead with only 13 seconds remaining in the period, catching Price out of position after winning the faceoff to his right. "We had a quick huddle just before the faceoff," said Kopitar. "We didnt draw it up quite as good as we executed, but well take it. "That was obviously a big momentum changer." The Kings opened the second period ready to build on that momentum. Alec Martinez scored early in the period after Montreal defender Alexei Emelin lost the puck in his skates in front of the net. Tyler Toffoli put the Kings ahead 4-0 at 5:28, firing home a big rebound past a sprawling Price, who was pulled after the goal. Jake Muzzin added to the lead on the power play at 8:14, and Justin Williams made it 6-0 with his team-leading 11th goal at 18:28. Jones was thankful his team did what they could to preserve his shutout bid late in the game. "The guys didnt stop playing even though we had that six-goal lead," said Jones. "Guys continued to block shots and get in lanes, and take away sticks in front of the net." Notes: L.A. hadnt beaten the Canadiens in seven encounters dating back to March 2003. The Kings last win in Montreal was in 1999. a Francis Bouillon was back in the lineup after missing six of the last 10 games as a healthy scratch. Bouillon got the nod in place of Douglas Murray.
